Songs of Hope and Love

On Sunday afternoon 15th September Newcastle-based singer-songwriter Peter Sagar will be performing some of his songs at the Canny Little Library at the Star and Shadow Cinema. Subjects tackled in the songs include human rights, the treatment of refugees, the Northeast’s radical past and telling truth to those in power. There will be love songs as well, along with plenty of hope and some humour in the delivery too!

Some of the songs can be heard on www.alivingtradition.org >Music/Writing along with lots more information on the website generally about our region’s proud heritage of human rights and community cohesion…

So why not come along, treat yourself to the opportunity to borrow some really interesting books from the Canny Little Library and hear some new (and old!) radical songs?

The Canny Little Library stocks books, zines and pamphlets with a focus on titles with a more critical stance towards the society we live in and not available in most regular libraries/ bookshops. All titles are available to browse and borrow for free.
