IS MIGRATION CLOSE TO YOUR HEART?

DO YOU HAVE A MIGRATION STORY TO TELL?

WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE YOUR STORY AS PART OF INTERNATIONAL MIGRANTS DAY?

If so, D6 would like to hear from you!
We are inviting up to 12 residents in the city to present their stories to an audience at the Star & Shadow to celebrate International Migrants Day 2018.

Our city has a rich heritage and culture that has been influenced and inspired by migration. We want to hear your stories and experiences on the theme of migration. Maybe it is your own story you wish to share or one of folklore that you have heard from past generations, friends or neighbours? You may want to tell us what you feel most proud of about in your local community. You may have an experienced an extraordinary journey which you would like to share. Your story may be poignant, personal, humorous or completely unexpected! The stage at Star & Shadow will be open to you and also shared with some of the North East’s finest musicians – Bethany Elen Coyle and the Crossings Band.

D6 are passionate about people coming together for International Migrants Day 2018, not only to celebrate the positive impact of migration on our shared cultural heritage but also to promote the rights of migrants and help foster a welcoming city in this time of challenge and change.
