Our new space is gradually being revealed as volunteer workers demolish existing internal structures. As part of the fun, this Saturday and then every Saturday we'll be having a vegetarian communal meal, cooked by volunteers.

Whatever your skill-level we hope you'll come along and get involved in phase one of the radical refurbishment of our new home. We have activities for everyone: lifting and carrying, working up ladders, meeting and greeting volunteers, making drinks. Bring your own ideas about how you can help.

If you want to support the cinema in other ways why not bake a cake or cook something for our communal meal? From 'down-n-dirty' to erm… 'up-n-scruffy' join us as we begin a new chapter of The Star and Shadow Cinema story.

There's friends to make, laughs to have and tool-box talks to revel in. We've got protective clothing galore, refreshments by the gallon and a massive skip that needs filling. Whatever time you have to give is great.
