The British Federation of Film Societies presents 'Getting Networked' - a facilitated networking event to bring together established film societies and volunteer-run community cinemas, as well as anyone interested in setting up such ventures.

BFFS

You will be invited to discuss needs, share your experience, find out more about what support and advice British Federation of Film Societies (BFFS) can offer, and consider the benefits of establishing a Film Society in the North East of England.

There will be a short screening at this event.

The day will cover the following areas:

  • How a typical film society operates and what it brings to its community
  • How other BFFS Regional Groups operate and what they do in their regions
  • How to take forward the setting up of a BFFS Regional Group
  • How to access information, support and DVD equipment owned by the BFFS
  • Who else is running a film society or community cinema in the North East of England
  • How your experience stacks up against theirs
  • How best to get support and support each other

Presenters/Panel:

Roxana Bramley: Audiences and Access Co-ordinator, Northern Film & Media

Ian Kerr: Chair, BFFS Scotland

Jim Dempster: Treasurer, BFFS

Julia Vickers: Strategy Officer, BFFS

This event is being run by BFFS in conjunction with Northern Film & Media and with the support of the UK Film Council.
