Migration is part of human history and evidence of it can be found at some point in almost everybody's family.
While capital is free to roam the world, people's freedom of movement is curtailed and controlled in increasingly complex and restrictive ways; Borders, checkpoints, detention centres, prisons and deportations are part of every European government policies.
This year, the festival wants to explore the political and economic systems that affect, force and control migration, and to look at the impact these systems have on us all.
