A cult figure in the UK, and a major star in Europe, Asia and Australia
Barbara Morgenstern is the thinking raver's techno Goddess. She's
played at the South Bank, the Sage and the Sydney Opera House, and
completes the circuit of the world's great music venues (beginning with
'S') with a gig at the Star and Shadow.
Self-taught
Morgenstern's background is in the German punk/squatting scene, she is
a long time collaborator with Gudrun Gut of Malaria and Einsturzende
Neubauten, and she's been compared to DAF, Hot Chip, Depeche Mode and
Broadcast. Despite her avant-garde credentials, her music is accessible
and danceable, and more recently she's recorded with indie-friendly
types To Rococo Rot, Robert Wyatt, Chicks on Speed, the Pastels, and
Thomas Fehlmann.
Barbara Morgenstern will be supported by local
indie shamblers Les Cox Sportifs, and Matinee Orchestra / Cathode
offshoot project Warm Digits.
