Mira Billotte is White Magic's dominant force, penning all of the songs on the debut album (Dat Rosa Mel Apibus - Drag City) and playing piano or guitar. Her voice is unique, as is this New York combo's peculiar musical landscape. Even though emanating dark shades of ye olde folk and ye olde psychedelic balladry, White Magic are stylistically separated, offering no easy placement when vainly trying to push them into any given genre - BBC Collective.
