The evening starts with a rare opportunity to view DOOR TO DOOR MANIAC
(1961) a low budget film with Johnny Cash starring as a killer who
serenades his victims.
Cash plays Johnny Cabot who is on the
lam after a heist goes wrong. To make things worse he is talked into
kidnapping the wife of a bank executive and holding her hostage while
her husband transfers the funds to them.
Unfortunately the husband was about to run off with his mistress and Cash would be doing the banker a favour.
Cash
serenades his victims with two tunes; "I've Come to Kill" and "Five
Minutes to Live", and is brilliantly cold-blooded as the villain. He
has wild spurts, where he prances around his prey, spouts
Tarantino-like tough talk, and gives out with wonderful eye gestures.
Don't miss it.
Following the film a stellar cast of North Eastern talent: Gem Andrews, Fiona Sally Miller, Cornshed Sisters, Abby Mitchell and the Dust Bowl Brothers, OCDC, and Rebecca Jones.
They will interpret death songs from the Appalachians, the Cheviots and the streets of downtown Nashville...
