Wreckless Eric...
Along with Elvis Costello, Ian Dury and the Damned, Wreckless Eric was
one of the original Stiff Records signings, an oddity even amongst his
peers. Releasing the legendary Whole Wide World back in 1977, he's
since made countless albums in different guises, touching on bubblegum
pop, grunge, psychedelia and country - but always remained true to the
DIY spirit of his early Stiff days.
Amy Rigby...
Amy Rigby started a country
band in eighties New York City, when such a thing would get your ass
run out of town. Her solo career included the hit album Diary Of A Mod
Housewife, and the Washington Post called her 'one of rock's most
distinctive and consistently excellent songwriters'.
Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby...
Meeting one night at a gig in Hull (Amy was singing, Eric was DJing), they've followed it up with marriage and a cracking new album on the revitalised Stiff Records. It's a beautifully raw and touching album: vocal harmonies, crackling, buzzing atmospheres and the upbeat/downbeat lyrics of a couple that have been one too many times around the dance floor.
