JACKIE-O MOTHERFUCKER + DRAGGING AN OX THROUGH WATER + JAZZFINGER + ONOMA

That’s right, this is happening, the incredible Jacki-O Motherfucker are coming to Newcastle. This group doesn’t need many introductions, but for those of you who are not familiar with them, the JOMF collective is one of the earlier, true titans of the American experimental improvisation scene, and have had stuff released on Thurston Moore’s Ecstatic Peace! Label in the past.

Boasting a number of masterful multi-instrumentalists, They’ve been labelled under many genres, and carry elements of a wide variety of influences, ranging from American folk, Native American music and traditional British music, to Jazz, drone, free-improv and more, but always elude categorisation. And, being so entrenched in experimentation and improvisation, you never know quite what you’re going to get when you go to see them.

God Is In The TV have said of JOMF that they are “firmly entrenched as the underground band’s underground band”, while Pitchfork have said that JOMF’s work “simply has no precedent”.

The last time these guys were meant to play Newcastle they ended up having to cancel due to problems with their visa, and it’s not every day these giants of American experimentation, so DON’T MISS this opportunity to see them!

On top of this treat we intend to make this into a proper night, so we’ll have support from none other than Dragging An Ox Through Water, and local support from the well established Jazzfinger and the up-and-coming talent that is Onoma. Now that I look at it, I’m thinking: “Wow, if I was having this night planned for me I’d be pretty effin pleased!”

And to make it just an extra bit more attractive, you’ll get to experience the orgasm that is this night for just £6!
