THE TRASH SHACK

La Beauté est dans La Rue! For the past year, the Trash Shack has been ploughing a strange little furrow on the outskirts of cool, with film seasons, gigs and club nights celebrating all that is glittery, ephemeral and camp. Weighed down with fake eyelashes, the Trash Shackers regularly celebrate pop with go-go dancers, B-movies, DJs and glamour, all influenced by Little Richard, the Ronettes, the MC5, Stooges, New York Dolls and Ramones.

ROCK AND ROLL, DOPE AND DANCING IN THE STREETS WITH

THE PRISCILLAS

In May they're joined by possibly the only band to be feted by both KERRANG! and VOGUE magazines ... the Priscillas. The Mighty Boosh and designer Anna Sui agree, declaring their love for the band and their unique brand of milkshake punk.

"Hotly tipped, all girl rock n rollers" said THE INDEPENDENT

"They're The Cramps, The Shangri-Las and the New York Dolls all rolled into one." shouted KERRANG!

The foil-clad superheroes of pop combine powerpunk, disco, 70's New York, indie-pop and mariachi to make a unique splash of blazingly catchy pastiche and vibrancy.

Their last album was produced by the same cove that twiddled the knobs on work by Kanye West, Pussycat Dolls, Kylie and The Kills, and this all-girl tornado have even added a chap. Phil Martini, ex-Tokyo Dragons drummer, is a brave sticksman to deal with this cacophony of super heroines, catwomen, go-go dancers and superstars.

Such excitement would be of no surprise had you seen the band.

Aside from their deliciously playful charisma, the tunes carry cosmic boogie with unmitigated rock to create a stunning live show. Stripping sensations from Blondie, Abba and Queen, the ensemble triumph on stage in taut, razor-sharp rocking shows that have gleaned attention at Glastonbury, Leeds Carling Weekend, Bestival and Lost Vagueness. They have played with kindred spirits such as Art Brut, The Cramps, The Damned and The 5,6,7,8s.

THE ACTIONETTES
Action! Time! Vision! The Actionettes are an all female glittery dance troupe based in London, UK, who perform synchronised dances to 60s girl group pop. They like to shimmy, have fun, drink cocktails and dance!

Presenting... Miss Balconette, Castanette, Corvette, Fishnette, Kitschenette, Luncheonette, Marmosette, Scarlette, Silhouette, Strumpette & Velvelette!

A BUCKET OF BLOOD (1960 FILM)
When a beatnik artist accidentally kills a cat and covers it in clay, it becomes the coolest of his sculptures, encouraging him to start a murder spree to maintain his artistic credentials. A rarely seen early work by Roger Corman, Bucket of Blood is a trashy satire on both the fifties art world, and bohemian life in the beatnik demi-monde.

Support is provided by Sunderland surf-mavens SENOR BEATNIK and DJ MICHAEL CLUNKIE VINYL JUNKIE
