WOMEN IN REVOLT
Described by The Crack as a 'transgender punk threat' WOMEN IN REVOLT are a polysexual mixture of 'gender politics and extreme camp', mixing influences from John Waters, New York Dolls, Jayne Mansfield and Emma Goldman.
THE VILE MISS PEARS
Our DJ, THE VILE MISS PEARS is fast gathering a loyal following for her collection of danceable punk, trash and rockabilly ephemera from the margins of good taste. Take one part Rodney Bingenheimer, a dash of Poison Ivy, throw in some Kim Fowley and dress as the beautiful Bride of Frankenstein. Oh Miss Pears!!
BARBARELLA
And what can we say about BARBARELLA?
In this notorious film version of the popular French comic strip by Jean-Claude Forest, Jane Fonda plays a sexy yet innocent space-age heroine in the year 40,000 A.D. who never gets herself into a situation that requires too much clothing.
Barbarella embarks on a mission to find a peace-threatening young scientist named Duran Duran (Milo O'Shea) by order of the president of Earth. En route, she's attacked by killer dolls, is strapped into a contraption known as the Excessive Machine, and falls in love with a blind angel. Also starring the wonderful David Hemmings, and Keith Richards' main squeeze, Anita Pallenberg, Barbarella is THE great camp sci-fi classic.
