The first is Tetsuya Nakashima's Confessions, a film which gained massive amounts of attention and won countless awards upon it's release in 2010. The second Memories of Matsuko (by the same director), a candy coloured fairytale tragedy inspired by films like Moulin Rouge and Amelie, but with a much less predictable and more emotionally involving storyline. The third is Sion Sono's Love Exposure, an unusual, epic, and sometimes slightly silly, four hour long journey through religion, teenage life, brainwashing cults, romance, violence, the porn industry and some of the more bizarre aspects of modern culture.
