A season of international films, events and discussions to examine the experience of ordinary people caught up in the rush to war in 1914.
These films challenge the nationalist readings that frequently accompany depictions of the First World War and explore anarchist, working-class and labour movement opposition to the war from both a UK and European perspective. Several of the films will be introduced by historians from Northumbria University and Northumbria’s Histories of Activism research group.
