Tonight we will be celebrating the turbulent history and compulsive creativity of gypsy culture with a surprise film and two excellent bands: 7 Hertz and Caravan.
7.30pm - FILM
A surprise film: we prefer not to tell you because we know you'll love the surprise...one of the best Gyspy films on the planet, certainly.
9pm - MUSIC: 7 HERTZ
7 Hertz is a Leeds based chamber/improve group. With their huge array of instrumentation (including; violin, mandolin, clarinet, accordion, trombone, trumpet and glockenspiel), 7 Hertz create improvised music that effortlessly leaps from folk to contemporary classical, from free improv to jazz and then from punk to just plain odd!
10.30PM - MUSIC: CARAVAN
Strongly influenced by Manouche music and Django Reinheart. They fuse Folk music from France, Greece & Russia, and mix it with jazz. Simply one of the best Gypsy bands around.
The party will go on until midnight...good music, cheapĀ (and good) drinks, all in one of the friendliest venues of Newcastle (that's us obviously): can you seriously consider not coming...?
