The films feature unique footage and interviews from from the vanished coal mines.
The programme includes archive footage from the coal industry in the 1960's togather with Adrin Neatrour's recently completed film about memories of coal mining in Northumberland which features rare unusual footage shot by pitman themselves. Report from the Northern Coal Face follows the trail of three miners as through memory they reclaim the vanished coal mines where they once worked.
Mat Fleming's film, Hearts of Steel (2011) mixes archive voice and recently shot footage to create an expressive account of the Rotherham Steel Industry.
