An evening of short films made and introduced by regional artists - animations, documentary, story, films made by children and for adults, introducing the Great North Festival to celebrate innovation and discover hope.

THREE OPENING FILMS

NEFA-NRA’ – A short film (2 minutes, 28 seconds) introducing the North East Film Archive which is at Teesside University in Middlesbrough.

On Change’. A film by Jackie Scollen, Lodestone. (10 minutes) Young Northern people talk about their perception of change.

Water- Wheel’ – a film by Mat Fleming. (15 minutes) Flour mill on the Tyne, harnessing natural energy.

Googile Invasion – a Kids for Kids UK production. A short film made by children from Consett. (5 minutes, 55 seconds)

School for Murder – a Kids for Kids UK production. A short film made by children from Consett. (10 minutes)

Rockband – a Jack Drum Arts Production. A short film made by Young People from Wolsingham Secondary School. (11 minutes)

Wallace the Pit Pony – a Jack Drum Arts Production. Music and song, complete with ananimated pony and archive film. (5 minutes, 57 seconds)

‘Northern Stage Doc’ – a film by Ian Fenton and Northern Stars (c.15 minutes)

Andy Law, lecturer at Newcastle University, will say a word about innovation and the festival.
