Neurotypical is an unprecedented exploration of autism from the point of view of autistic people themselves.
Four-year-old Violet, teenaged Nicholas and adult Paula occupy different positions on the autism spectrum, but they are all at pivotal moments in their lives. How they and the people around them work out their perceptual and behavioral differences becomes a remarkable reflection of the "neurotypical" world — the world of the non-autistic — revealing inventive adaptations on each side and an emerging critique of both what it means to be normal and what it means to be human.
What is the standard that identifies one person as whole and capable and another as disabled and broken?

Programmer’s notes:
Two years ago I knew almost nothing about autism. Then I discovered that I am autistic. Now I know a lot more! I choose these four films because they are eclectic, but feel relevant to my own experiences. I hope they encourage you to be more curious.
I liked Neurotypical because it is voiced entirely by autistic people. I could relate to all of them and some bits are very funny!
We aim to end the season with a bang! 'Neurotypical' will be followed by
'Sensory Overload'.
A mad multimedia melee of music(?) and movie, mixed with masks, maths, movement, mayhem and more.
Starring Man-Eating Ants, Reptiles, Robots, Mutants & Genetic Throwbacks, with special guests Matt MacTitian and The Audience.
WARNING! This act really will aim to demonstrate sensory overload. Please feel comfortable to leave if it gets too much. Earplugs and eyemasks will be available.
