A 70s classic, featuring superb performances by Ryan O’Neal as an ice-cool getaway driver and Bruce Dern as the relentless detective hunting him, the minimal dialogue and charged atmosphere make for a refined crime-action, driver-for-hire film. Chased by the obsessive detective, the getaway driver must avoid various traps and pitfalls as the  plot twists and turns, but ultimately the film climaxes in a frenzy of twisted metal and burning rubber.
