Newcastle sadly lost one of its key cultural icons and instigators to cancer this April. Craig Puranen Wilson a.k.a. singer/songwriter & photographer Sheena Revolta was a key figure in many underground and left wing events. He was the man behind some of the best club nights and events of recent years operation under titles' Sounds of Seduction', 'Urban and Eastern', 'Trash Shack', 'Divine Trash' and 'Mondo Weirdo', just to name a few.

Some of the most memorable events created together with his wife Krista a.k.a. Lady Koo were 'The Funky Butt club' and 'Sin-a-Go-Go' (burlesque) -nights. He brought real Mexican wrestlers into VAMOS festivals, held 'Bowie ball I' & II' and was the lead singer/songwriter of legendary transgender punk bank Women in Revolt. Radio stations NE1fm and Basic fm had him running his own shows and he was a program manager for Tyneside bar cafe, bringing in film quizzes, trashy Eurovision parties plus much more. Craig was the man behind weird and wonderful events for first Star and Shadow cinema including 'Alternative Miss Newcastle' pageant and various music & film festivals including groundbreaking 'Ukelearmeltdown' alternative ukulele festivals . Craig also created crowdfunding for the new Star and Shadow cinema and to honor his life's work, a club night in true Craig style will be bringing the best of the city together under one roof. If you love to see some of the best portrait photography of today, enjoy great live music and love dancing into weird and funky tunes in the most creative crowd, this is your night!

Saturday 2nd June, Star and Shadow cinema has a night filled with entertainment From 8pm till late including: 3 great bands; ' The Mush', 'Nathalie Stern & friends' and 'Women in Revolt' followed by DJ sets provided by TheMarkofKane, Stagger Lee and Lady Annabella.
