EVERYBODYS presents: Générique NEWCASTLE

-
Sun 6 December 2009 // 17:00 / Cinema

Générique uses the post-show artist talk as the format for a game. The sole rule is that everyone discusses as if a performance had just taken place - that the performers had performed it and the audience had watched it. During the discussion everybody can participate in inventing the fictional performance. Using a set of tools the performers enhance the fictionality of the discussion and encourage the game to go forwards.

In French, générique means generic as well as the credits at the end of a movie. The performance is thus characterised by those who perform it.

Générique is an open-source performance project, which develops depending on the interest and investment of a variety of performers. Everybody is invited to use, develop and share further tools and experiences that can help Générique to expand, as well as to perform it. Everybodys is an open platform for the development of tools and discourses, research and exchange in the performing arts.

This meeting will be between a club, a performance, and a workshop in the truest sense - in that everybody works together to think, create, and enjoy. Anyone can join in. Really.
