S&S launches as AV Festival 10 late night hub with a 70's sci-fi inspired hallway-makeover - remember the Hawaiian Beach Party makeover from Summer 07? On the festival's Energy theme..
In response to a world spiralling out of control because of fossil fuel addiction, all sorts of anxieties and solutions find expression in the Dr.Who set building styles of Team Star and Shadow, from Energy Pyramids and Geodesic domes to artificial Forests, space travel and new age spirituality.
LATE NIGHT PARTYING
In this temporary habitat, we welcome you to party towards oblivion with the S&S house DJ's Tha Visible Choirboy and Impostor, transmitting a garbled selection of nostalgic rock and roll, psych, krautrock and futuristic electro for people to practise their robot dances and freak-out paroxysms to.
All energies welcome - high, low or no.
Free + £1 membership to the Star and Shadow cinema - no booking required.

The AV Festival is the biennial international Festival of electronic arts, taking place from 5-14 March 2010.
This year the curatorial theme is energy: a universal force that connects, transforms and renews life. Exploring energy from scientific, technological, environmental and spiritual perspectives we present work that resonates across the Festival centres in NewcastleGateshead, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, and beyond.
