Hamburg’s FC St Pauli is that rare beast - a progressive football club.

A bastion of leftwing activism and DIY arts, its supporters are one of the western world’s most politically and culturally engaged fanbases, and the club is particularly beloved of punk and underground music fans. FC St Pauli supporters' clubs have been established all over Europe.

Freedom Through Football tells the story of a group of activists in Thessaloniki, Greece, who establish an FC St. Pauli supporters' group in their city.

There will be a Q&A session with the director Evripidis Karydis after the film.
