METALKING
Richarles Bronson ( Bass + electronics) & Riojim ( 16mm films)

A MetalkinG performance is a concentrated and intense affair : equipped with the barest essentials, a bass guitar and a couple of electronics junks, Bronson improvises fast and loud japanoïse. Riojim work methods are as crudely effective as those of Bronson: he applies severe treatment to the projector, plays around with the film and the homemade optical sound-on-film.

Bronson says, “After all, what is really important for me [is that] when I’m playing in this way, I’m really not making music for film. We’re not making film for music, we're exploring the relation between sound and image as a collaborative experience.”

If you came to the collaboration between Atelier MTK's Lafoxe performance and Helictite a couple of years ago, you will know what extraordinary events these are.
