Join us as we trawl the Resounding Silents archive of classic silent movies, tonight we revisit Kurutta Ippeiji (1926) featuring Phallictite (2017)...plus Japanese nightmare shorts

Teinosuke Kinugasa was a prolific and innovative Japanese director who's early work is largely lost. He was the first to win Best Film at Cannes and also a Best Foreign Film Academy Award for Gate Of Hell (1953). Tonight's dark avant garde offering is a unique survival, probably the only original example of European style expressionism/surrealism ever from the land of the rising sun accompanied by Phallictite. Supported by a selection of disturbed and disturbing Japanese animations.
