Marian and Gillie are extremely amateur agony aunts. That's not to say they lack experience: Marian has helped Gillie with all her woes for over a decade. Gillie is sort of joining in as best she can. Neither of them can really solve your problems, but they'll think about them very carefully and be entertaining (at least to themselves).
