Window Projections at the Star and Shadow

The Star and Shadow Cinema presents animations by Kate Sweeney and Rachel Bollen. Both artists have turned their attention inwards, drawing on the things available to them during this restricted year to animate moments of their intimate lives.

Little Light (2 min)
... explores a process of becoming a mother, and how things come to matter.

Rachel Bollen
Hold My Breath (4.27 min)
An animation about being alone in my body, submerged under the surface, the outside world muffled by the water that surrounds me.

With the cinema remaining closed these painted animations will be projected onto the windows of our building for passers by to stop and enjoy.

Both animations were commissioned as part of our Micro Projects, supported by Arts Council England's Emergency Fund Grant.
