The tournament is a playful opportunity to celebrate all that is mint within the neighbourhood and you can get involved in a number of ways.
If you want to play be sure to arrive between 12.30PM PROMPT to register.
If you don't want to play, but would like to support the event you can cheer on your favourite team or support the event organisers with one of the many tasks. Spectators and helpers are very welcome.
If you’d like to help either sign up on the Star & Shadow Cinema Rota or just let yourself known on arrival!
BACKGROUND
In May 2019 we held The 1st Shieldfield Community Cup. Ten teams popped up on the day, a huge range in age and ability, and about 100 spectators came out to watch, some bearing cakes... it was a fantastic event and many people said:
"When are ye doing this again, cos it's been reet canny!"
So, in September 2019 we held The 2nd Shieldfield Community Cup - back by popular demand!
Again, all ages, abilities and genders were welcome - whether a seasoned pro or excited novice. This time, Shieldfield’s volunteer run Forum Café teamed up with The Star & Shadow Cinema kitchen to provide warm and cold refreshments on the day.
We’d hoped to follow up with The 3rd Shieldfield Community Cup in May 2020 but for obvious reason have had to postpone - until now!
So, whether you are dusting off your boots or rustling up some chants to cheer on the players we look forward to seeing you there!
