A classic of the French new wave with a legendary improvised jazz score by trumpeter Miles Davis.
Julien, an ex-paratrooper, and his lover Florence plot the murder of Florence’s husband. The plan goes awry when Julien finds himself trapped in a lift. Meanwhile a teenage couple steal his car and gun and go on a reckless joyride, while Florence restlessly walks the streets of Paris.
Miles Davis’s haunting score to the film is considered to be one of the greatest jazz soundtracks ever recorded and anticipates the modal jazz that would feature in his albums Milestones and Kind Of Blue.
