Curated by BFI NETWORK Talent Executive Ben Taylor this selection will showcase the best of live action, animation and documentary shorts by filmmakers across the North. Picks include the award winning Hanging On, archive based Lost Connections and the bizarre, Divination Dave.

Attendees will have the opportunity to chat with the BFI NETWORK team about the support available through the Film Hub. It's a great opportunity to meet the growing community of local filmmakers, and support exciting work from emerging UK talent.

This screening will be followed by a Q&A with some of the featured filmmakers, led by Film Hub North’s BFI NETWORK team. After the Q&A, there will be networking drinks in the Event Space.

Cafe open 2pm-4pm selling tea, coffee and vegan cakes.

Access: The films are captioned subtitled and will be screened in a relaxed environment with the lights up little and space for social distancing. We will aim to live caption the Q&A using automated technology. There will be a chill out space available for anyone who would like to use it during the screening. The screening is suitable for audiences age 15+

Image description: Still from a stop motion animated short film. A person with shaved hair, ace stubble and rosy cheeks sits in an armchair. They are wearing a yellow t-shirt too small for them exposing their belly and blue shorts revealing stubbly legs. A red telephone and a broken white table lamp are on a side table beside them. In the background is badly applied yellow and red patterned wallpaper.
