Miman is an improvising trio consisting of fiddler Hans Kjorstad, clarinetist Andreas Røysum and bassist and synthetist Egil Kalman; three of the most distinct and active young voices on the thriving Scandinavian jazz and improv scene.

Their sound is shaped by their diverse backgrounds and influences; folk music blends seamlessly with sentiments aching to free jazz and contemporary music in an organic fashion that steers clear of the dogmatic. They have released three albums on their own, the last one is just out and called “1000 Bitar”

As part of the group “Völvur” they backed Alasdair Roberts on the highly acclaimed album “The Old Fabled River” (Drag City) in 2021, and they are thrilled to do two exclusive shows featuring Mr. Roberts in the UK in 2022, at The Old Hairdresser’s in Glasgow and at Star and Shadow. Expect subtle improvisations, tender ballads and of course a couple epic originals from the one and only Alasdair Roberts.
