Cosys Ex
are a collective of musicians and producers; founded in Newcastle upon Tyne, with a fusion of genres and players from a traditional Scottish and English backgrounds along with more contemporary electronic and jazz influences, backed up with four-part vocal harmonies and earth moving frequencies.
They are fronted by Gaelic singer and guitarist
Kaitlin Ross, clàrsach player
Ada Francis, alongside fiddle player and producer
Anna Hughes
who are backed by the thunderous tones of
Callum Younger
on Bodhran and drums, alongside bass, keyboards and electronics from
Rob Griffiths.

an Afro-Latin percussion & brass duet comprised of
Hannabiell Sanders
(Bass Trombone, African & Latin Percussion and Composer) and
Yilis del Carmen Suriel
(African & Latin Percussion). They create a powerful and upbeat fusion which reaches deeply into trance drum rhythms to create a melodic sound that inspires dancing and audience participation.
Ladies of Midnight Blue (hannabiell.com)
Their music consists of powerful and upbeat combinations of percussion, brass, vocal chants, and mbira arrangements. The Ladies of Midnight Blue have performed all over the world for various festivals, charity benefits, peace rallies, and protest marches.
Opening the night will be Dumfries born guitarist Jen Mac, originally from a traditional music background, she is an electronic music producer who uses sampling to obtain gritty textures while drawing attention to social and cultural issues such as environmental and LGBTQ+ issues. Jen Mac’s unique approach to manipulating sampled materials contributes to her unique genre subverting tone.
