This Mother’s Day, join us in celebrating one of the most extraordinary mother-daughter relationships ever put to film, in one of the campiest movies ever made. (A movie so camp that John Waters recorded a commentary track for the DVD!)
Based on the scandalous tell-all bestseller, Mommie Dearest follows the turbulent and and volatile relationship between Joan Crawford—a queen of Golden Age Hollywood—and her daughter Christina. Faye Dunaway, playing Joan, chews every scrap of scenery and then some, portraying Crawford as an all-guns-blazing, fierce, and at-times terrifying figure.
Considered one of the worst films ever made, nominated for a (then) record 9 Razzie nominations, including Worst Picture, and then again 9 years later winning Worst Picture of the 80s! As Joan says herself: “Box office poison!”
Rip up your rose beds and get out your hidden wire hangers for our outrageous screening of Mommie Dearest - dressing up is not essential, but definitely encouraged.
We're mixing up some special themed cocktails for you, so make sure to stop by the bar before or after the show for a 'Joan' or 'Tina'!
