Manchester Collective debut at Star & Shadow with a new programme evoking the haze and heady atmosphere of underground clubs. Violinist Rakhi Singh and guitarist Alan Keary (aka Shunya) venture into unknown sound worlds: expect a collision of genres in this eclectic set, replete with experimentation and improvisation. 

Originally written for nine bagpipes and reinvented for solo violin, Julia Wolfe’s Lad — a formidable wall-of-sound experience — is at the heart of this experimental programme for amplified instruments, featuring Bach, Reich, and Hildegard of Bingen, as well as original compositions by Rakhi and Alan.
