Twas bryllyg, and the slythy toves

Could this be a traditional knightly tale of a young under-appreciated lad from the country, setting forth to the big city in search of adventure, overcoming all odds, being trained in military arts and fighting unspeakable monsters - eventually winning fame, fortune and the affections of the girl of his dreams? Well something like that, but not quite what might be traditionally expected.

Did gyre and gymble in the wabe:

In Jabberwocky, Terry Gilliam’s solo directorial debut, this traditional tale is set in a dark ages kingdom complete with bold knights and a princess, and given a python-style make-over to present it in the form of a surreal dark comedy.

All mimsy were the borogoves;

Michael Palin stars as Dennis an apprentice cooper. He sets forth from the back of beyond to the big city with dreams of stocktaking, moving with the times, improving efficiency and starting a successful career. However, a hideous monster is casting a dreadful pall of fear over the once happy land. So the king seeks a knightly champion to defeat the monster and to return peace and tranquillity to his kingdom. Who will take on the kings quest?

And the mome raths outgrabe.
