• Smote • (Rocket Recordings)
Transcendence through repetition beamed via an aesthetic vision steeped in mystery: welcome to the world of Smote, an entity opening up uncanny new psychic pathways. The coterie of key players around lynchpin Dan Foggin have made their patient emergence in great strides, touring both the UK and Europe between issue of spellbinding LP releases on Rocket Recordings.

• Eyes Of Others • (Heavenly Records)
Eyes of Others have been described as making 'post-pub couldn't get in the club music'. Actually, though, it's the sound of the small hours – The Blue Nile lost on the dancefloor at an Optimo night; John Martyn working magic with drum loops and Logic; Suicide washed up on the shores of Portobello Beach.
FFO The Beta Band / New Order / Ivor Cutler

• Sara Wolff •
There’s an old saying “a stitch in time saves nine” and it’s this attention to detail which is woven through Sara Wolff’s songwriting. After what she calls “a year of sound” revisiting her native Bergen, Sara reshaped the homespun nuggets crafted in her cosy Liverpool abode. Remaining present as it pulls from the past, Sara’s avant-garde knit-pop muses on the weird paradox of time with wide-eyed wonder.
FFO Rozi Plain / Fiona Apple / Jenny Hval

• Amy Thatcher and Francesca Knowles •
ACCORDION AND DRUMS LIKE YOU'VE NEVER HEARD BEFORE - breaking with tradition while adopting it as a foundation for playful experimentation. Their live show has both raucous energy and sympathetic intensity - drums, synths, keys and vocals, for an unapologetic brew of colourful composition. The pair exhibit an undaunted attitude to kicking off a genre revolution.
