A widow (Jeanne Moreau) tracks down and takes revenge on each of the five men she blames for the death of her husband on their wedding day.
The Bride Wore Black is Truffaut's homage to Hitchcock and even includes a score by Hitchock's long-time collaborator the legendary composer Bernard Herrmann. The film is based on the novel by author Cornell Woolrich, who also provided the original source material for Rear Window.
