Several slices of the London queer community talk in depth about what it means to create a family, in this heartfelt DIY debut. It takes a village to raise a child, but if you’re queer, it also takes a village to understand the process of creating one. Through sensitive and vital conversations, many from the perspective of those conceived by sperm donors, Jasmine Johnson navigates relationships, sperm banks, multiple queer communities and the national health service itself, in an attempt to do family and reproduction differently

Jasmine Johnson is an artist and works as a lecturer at Goldsmiths University of London. Over recent years, their works have been presented at: Drawing Room, Barbican, Almanac, Jerwood, ICA, Tulca Galway, CAC Vilnius, New Contemporaries, Place des Arts Montreal, Devos Museum Michigan. They are currently undertaking a practice-led DPhil at Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford on the subject of queer reproduction. They have been funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation; National Lottery Project Grant, Arts Council England; European Cultural Foundation. what's safe, what's gross, what’s selfish and what’s stupid is their first long form directorial role.
