CAROL is the screen adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's only romantic novel "The Price of Salt", which the acclaimed crime novelist published in 1952 under a pseudonym. 

1950's New York, aspiring photographer Therese Belivet is working as a sales clerk at a department store. One day she meets Carol Aird, an attractive upper-class woman who is trapped in a loveless marriage of convenience. Their initial encounter sparks a connection that will develop into an overwhelming passion. Defying the social norms of the time, they will live their love story despite the many challenges they have to face.

CAROL was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role and Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay.
