This film is inspired by the CND Cymru archive. Engaging with this material while living in mid Wales led Phillips to a deeper questioning of militarism and land occupation in the region. Hand-processed 16mm techniques such as solarisation and cyanotype echo the DIY ethos of the CND Cymru protestors. Beginning with the archive—appropriating, re-filming, and reframing it— the film examines how grassroots environmental and peace movements were visually represented in a pre-internet era.
