Half a decade of the Ewan Brown Newcastle Anarchist Bookfair - 5 and thriving

2026 marks the 5th annual Newcastle Ewan Brown Anarchist Bookfair, a dynamic celebration of the life and legacy of Ewan Brown, and a tribute to the radical history, present, and future of the North-East. On Saturday 30th May, we’ll throw open the doors once again, inviting activists, artists, thinkers, and community members to gather in the spirit of resistance and solidarity. The event will feature an exciting mix of stalls, workshops, live music, and art, all hosted in the incredible Star and Shadow Cinema, nestled in the heart of Newcastle’s east end.

This year, as in years past, the bookfair is brought to life by a dedicated group of volunteers, powered by donations and community support. We work hard to make this event as inclusive and accessible as possible, ensuring everyone can take part, share in the knowledge, and celebrate the fight for a more just world. Whether you're discovering new anarchist literature, connecting with fellow radicals, or enjoying vibrant performances, the Ewan Brown Anarchist Bookfair promises to be a day full of learning, sharing, and building the future we deserve.
