Doxology presents Jennifer Walton, performing ‘Daughters’ at Star & Shadow on 16th December 2025.

There are few musicians with a resume as impressive or eclectic as Jennifer Walton’s. Touring member of Kero Kero Bonito. Half of noise-pop duo Cryalot, alongside vocalist Sarah Bonito. NTS producer who recently curated a two-hour ‘In Focus’ episode dedicated to SOPHIE. Affiliate of labels, club nights and artists like PC Music, Mutualism, Club Cringe, Illegal Data, Iceboy Violet, BABii and many more. Composer of numerous soundtracks and theme tunes (including the intro for No Tags, the only music podcast Doxology would ever recommend). Official remixer for Metronomy, KAVARI and ROOO. One of the Microplastics, a supergroup formed with her best friends aya and 96 Back.

Now Walton is returning to her native north-east, touring the gorgeous electronic-folk-indie-pop of her debut album ‘Daughters’ (Local Action). Written over three years in the wake of her father’s passing, it is an intimate, hook-filled, devastating miracle of a record. Doxology lineups have largely dealt in experimental electronica, weird performances/rituals and deconstructed club to this point, but for our final event of the year you’re getting something very different.

We’ll say more about the “Northern England Americana” of ‘Daughters’ in a future post, but right now we urge you to go immerse yourself in the complexity and tenderness of its songs, the intricacy of its delicately layered arrangements and production, and the magical realism of its candid, evocative storytelling. Become a close, personal friend of Jennifer Walton.

And make sure you buy a ticket for Jenny’s hyemcoming. It’s going to be emotional.
