weekender plays proud host to a new multiple screen installation from Brighton based artist Rachel Close…
Poetry and mystery…all that enlarges tangible reality" Luis Bunel
Deja vu moments; lost memories, familiar faces and new surroundings.
Walk through a dream, a nightmare, a poem, a day: all in the life of someone else.
In this four part video installation we hear from four women who all live on the margins in some way.
What happens when our worlds collide, when dreams merge into reality, when we can't see the gaps?
This drama-doc provides a unique platform for rarely heard voices-
with an injection of "poetry and mystery".

I
am a female film maker/editor/visual artist. I was born in Romania and
adopted as a baby and raised in Teeside. I have lived in Cyprus, Wales
and now Brighton. I want to make films and art about women and their
lives. I am interested in exploring notions of choice and freedom in
relation to women. I believe in representing my subjects with dignity
and i find films which sensationalise or moralise their subject matter
boring.
I
love documentary but have recently been veering into the worlds of
drama, visual art and photography. I hope to continue telling visual
stories about people in the world around me. My inspirations include: Shirin Neshat, Larry Clark, Sean McAllister, Clio Barnard, Kimberly pierce & John Cassevettes
