First shown on 30 September at the Star & Shadow, BISHCAM was one of the first local films we screened here, and we’re excited to bring it back for our 20th birthday celebrations. Shot in 2006, it captures the Newcastle skate scene through the lens of Krishna Muthurangu.

BISHCAM features Netive team riders Jamie Errington, Kurt Mitchel, Chris Rose and James Colye, alongside many other Newcastle locals.

Krishna Muthurangu is a North East based filmmaker working across directing, cinematography, editing and camera operation. His work spans a wide range of projects, collaborating with both corporate and creative clients to produce commercials, music videos, short films, documentaries and digital content.

For the original screening, the cinema at Stepney Bank was transformed into a skate park, with a ramp built up against the old caravan and skated beneath the screen.
