This Pride Month at the Star & Shadow Cinema we’ve put together a selection of films celebrating queer stories, cult classics and beloved favourites across horror, comedy, romance and coming of age cinema!
On Friday 12 June, catch Bottoms, the chaotic teen comedy that built a huge online following despite only receiving a limited UK cinema release.
Saturday 13 June brings We’re All Going to the World’s Fair from Jane Schoenbrun, director of I Saw the TV Glow, a haunting and intimate exploration of identity, loneliness and online worlds.
On Monday 15 June we’re screening the cult favourite But I’m a Cheerleader, followed on Tuesday 16 June by Happy Together, Wong Kar Wai’s iconic story of love and alienation.
Then on Thursday 18 June, see The Talented Mr. Ripley, based on Patricia Highsmith’s classic novel, before A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge on Friday 19 June, the cult horror sequel long embraced as a queer classic for its unmistakable homoerotic subtext.
