"The only people who can change the working class position are the working class themselves."
Nick Broomfield’s BEHIND THE RENT STRIKE (1974) chronicles the fourteen month rent strike undertaken by 3000 tenants in Kirkby New Town as a protest against an increase in council house rents introduced by the Housing Finance Bill.
Doors at 7:00 pm
Funds raised through ticket sales will go to the Tyne and Wear Centre Against Unemployment, an advice and advocacy service based in Gateshead.
You can book your tickets in advance - donations will be taken on the door.
