After the success of our Ghostwatch evening at Halloween join us this Christmas for a screening for three of the BBC’s most famous and terrifying short films!

The night will begin with Whistle and I’ll Come to You (1968, 42 minutes) – a fussy Cambridge professor’s holiday in an isolated east coast beach town finds a strange whistle whilst exploring a Knight’s Templar graveyard, when blown it unleashes a frightening supernatural force upon him!

The second film of the evening is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ The Signalman (1976, 38 minutes) - Strange things are being seen and heard by a signalman at on a lonely stretch of rail track. The traveller who befriends him is positive there must be a rational explanation for the ghostly hooded figure who warns of danger, but the increasingly terrified signalman cannot be convinced!

Our final short movie is The Tractate Middoth (2013, 35 minutes) – In search of a very particular book, John Eldred arrives at a university library where an unassuming student is about to have his life turned upside down by a family feud and the lost will of the terrifying Dr Rant!

After the screening will be a Q&A session with academics from Northumbria University.
