Join the Northern Dykes for their first-ever social event, in association with Heaton Pride!

We will be discussing your favourite books by queer authors and collecting book donations to send to the Lavender Pages Project, a solidarity collective sending bundles of books, zines and educational material to incarcerated LGBTQ+ people across the UK.

Pick up a drink or a sweet treat from the Star & Shadow café and come along to meet fellow readers and celebrate everything great in the world of queer lit! During the day you'll also have the option to write a note to the recipient of your books, telling them why you chose it (stationary provided - but you're welcome to bring your own)!

Want to donate a book, but don't have a 'like new' copy to hand? We will have the option for you to 'twin' your book by donating the cost of a new purchase, allowing you to share your pick with one of Lavender Pages' subscribers.

Please consider the following before attending this event:

- All book donations must be new or "like new" condition

- Books must be written by LGBTQ+ authors

- Please do not bring any gifts or adhesive decorations for your notes (e.g., stickers, washi tape, etc.)

- Taking part in the discussion is not compulsory! Feel free to 'drop in' or participate in whatever way makes you most comfortable.
