We're holding a People's Assembly to bring people together to showcase the power of deliberative democracy and how this approach is needed to tackle the cost of living crisis and climate & ecological emergency.

FURTHER INFORMATION

8 out of 10 people are concerned about the climate crisis, yet our political systems focus on divisive debates rather than coming together to solve real problems. We need democratic processes which are capable of handling the level of crises we now face.

At this People's Assembly we will invite people to discuss the question "How might we respond to the crisis we face together?" We'll encourage people to share knowledge and experience of taking action together to create change, plus consider community-based solutions to the climate, ecological and cost of living crises and discuss how they intersect.

The People’s Assembly is one of many similar events happening in all the nations and regions of the UK, as part of the Change is Now Bus Tour. It will take rebellion, deliberative democracy and movement building right across the UK.

To make it easier for families and those with children to attend, a rock painting activity will be provided for children during the discussion part of the event. (Children will be in the same room as their grownups, and remain their grownups responsibility at all times).
