This Pride season, come party till you drop. Dead!
Set in 1962 Malibu Beach, this cult classic parodies 1950s psychodramas, 1960s beach movies, and 1980s slasher films.
Chicklet is a sixteen-year-old tomboy desperate to join the in-crowd of Malibu surfers. She’s the typical American girl — except for one little problem: her personality is split into more slices than a pepperoni pizza.
Starring Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under, Yellowjackets), Nicholas Brendon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Thomas Gibson (Criminal Minds, Tales of the City), and six-time Academy Award nominee Amy Adams!
Written by actor, screenwriter, playwright, and drag queen Charles Busch, based on his stage play. After deciding he might not be believable as a 16-year-old girl (“while I can still manage, with the aid of a sympathetic cameraman, to play a sophisticated 25, 16 would be a stretch… I simply rolled up my sleeves and wrote myself a new and quite wonderful role, that of the briskly efficient chief of police, Capt. Monica Stark, LAPD”).
